What we offer

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

Canteen

All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.

Students can place recess and lunch orders in the drop box just outside the canteen window in the morning before school starts. Recess and lunch orders should be written on a paper bag with the student's name and class, and correct money enclosed.

To keep the canteen going, the P&C needs volunteers every day to help out. This involves preparing and serving food for recess and lunch. There is always someone else around to work alongside and show you the ropes. Remember our school community needs this service, and all money raised goes back to help the school, so please help keep it going by volunteering.

If you are able to help, please email the P&C at bcspandc@gmail.com

The Braidwood Central School canteen is run as a service to the school community by the P&C. The P&C Canteen is open every day at recess and lunchtime.

The P&C Canteen aims to provide nutritious food at a reasonable cost, while catering for the needs of students from Kindergarten to Year 12. In addition, the menu is designed to meet the requirements of the NSW Fresh Tastes at School NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy.

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Learn more about the NSW Department of Education’s School Uniform Policy.

Students are expected to wear the school uniform on all school days throughout the year. This includes those students completing examinations on school premises, and students attending school before and/or after hours.

Students are expected to wear the school uniform on school excursions. On some excursions the use of school uniform may be inappropriate, and on such occasions parents and students will be informed on the consent form.

The school understands that sometimes there are reasons for not being in uniform on a particular day.  When not in full uniform, it is important that students:

  • Bring an explanatory note from a parent or guardian;
  • Wear clothing that is neat, tidy and appropriate for participation in class activities.
