The Peer Support Program is a peer led, skills based, experiential learning program. It encourages peer connections throughout the school and assists students in developing practical skills to enhance social and emotional wellbeing.
The program empowers young people to support each other and contribute positively to their school and community. In a school context, it involves Year 10 students working with a small group of Year 7 students, to ensure that essential skills are learned in a safe environment.
This weeks workshop will prepare Year 9 participants for effective implementation of the Peer Support Program in 2021. This workshop will give the participants, skills to run Peer Support sessions, as well as life skills that they will continue to use in their everyday life.
